Residential Ground Array in AONB

Client Brief:

The client’s property is located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), restricting where solar panels could be installed.

They also required a large battery storage system to maximise energy flexibility—storing excess solar generation as well as low-cost electricity from overnight tariffs for use during peak pricing periods.

Project Design & Final Configuration:

EDDI solar diverter for hot water heating using excess energyFinal system configuration:

  • 34 × Perlight 330W Black Plus Mono solar panels, selected for durability and long-term reliabilitySolarEdge 90 kW inverter
  • Tesla Powerwall battery system (10.5 kW)
  • 7 kW Zappi EV charger
  • EDDI solar diverter for hot water heating using excess energy

Impact & Results:

  • Over 51,000 kWh of clean energy generated since installation
  • Approximately 18% exported back to the grid
  • Increased energy independence and reduced grid reliance
  • Significant reduction in electricity costs through smart energy usage and storage

This system delivers a highly efficient, future-ready energy solution—maximising on-site renewable usage while optimising energy costs through storage and smart technology integration.
